Diagnose the cause.
Then plan the repair.
Draining and spinning are connected, so a washer that will not spin may be responding to a drain problem rather than a failed motor. Door locks, water-level sensing, pumps, wiring and controls can also affect how a cycle progresses. We look at when the failure occurs and what the machine is doing at that point.
Before your service visit
Let us know whether water is still inside and which cycle was running. Record any error code before clearing it. A photo of the model label and a short video of an intermittent sound can be helpful. Please leave enough space to reach the machine without moving a heavy or stacked appliance yourself.
A repair decision that makes sense
The value of a repair depends on the specific fault and the machine’s condition. Replacing a drain component is a different job from addressing a damaged tub or major drive-system problem. We explain the repair option and any parts that need to be ordered before work proceeds.
